This had to have been one of my favorite recipes to try out. It’s important to follow the directions so that you’ll have that ooey, gooey hot fudge in with the cake. If you’re a chocoholic, you’ll want to try out this delicious dessert!
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons baking cocoa (2 tbsp + 4 tbsp, separated)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1-3/4 cups hot water

Turn the oven on to 350°.
Mix the flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons of cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix the milk, oil, and vanilla together with a whisk.
Mix just until moistened. Add to flour mixture.
Move to a 9-inch square baking pan that hasn’t been greased. Mix the brown sugar and the rest of the cocoa in a small bowl, then sprinkle it over the batter. Pour hot water over everything, but don’t mix it.
Bake 35-40 minutes. Let it cool for just a few minutes and then serve. If you want, add ice cream or whipped cream on top.
